This aspect is essential to having the greatest possibility for your child's education realized.
Parent/Guardian Coaching: The most integral part of the advocacy process is engaging resourceful perspectives. A parents perspective and attitude are the main contributors in obtaining results from advocacy and creates a context and way of relating to the process that fosters ongoing success. The perspective that parents operate from will determine how they interact. How the parents interact with the school district, child, and each other will directly influence the results. Our goal is to coach parents to a perspective that will resource the greatest possible results.
Negotiation Support: Negotiation is any communication that desires to have a certain influence on another. Developing a way of relating with the school district and other parties that invites alliance is the greatest way to have your child’s interests supported. PACA will coach you in setting a context for a win/win solution with any negotiation; the key is compromising with your school district without compromising your child.
Resource Development: Discovering all the available resources is a key element to ongoing support and aid for both parents and their children. Accessing what services are available outside of the school (e.g. county services, child groups, issue specific parent networking & support groups, etc.) expands your possibility for success. PACA will assist you in searching for different sources and developing a resource portfolio.
Support Group & Event Presentations: As a part of our commitment to coaching and teaching parents/guardians in advocating for their child, we offer parent support group teaching (for any disability or special need), as well as legal presentations and motivational speaking for special events. We operate nationally and will often present at any event or support group at minimal to no cost.
Diagnostic & IEE (Independent Education Evaluation) Referrals: Determining an appropriate doctor or education evaluator for your child’s assessments is necessary to ensure you receive proper diagnosis and educational services that will support your child in meeting their fullest potential. We have a network of professionals that are trusted in their field of expertise by many parents we are associated with.
